Beta Testing Board Games

2nd graders are deep into the development process of creating their boardgames. They've collaboratively worked together to create a first draft and are beta testing their games to make sure they play the way they hoped, making modifications as needed, playing again and adjusting. They are fully engaged in the iterative process. Once their games work as they hope they will start adding color, designing the packaging and writing out the instruction. This project is one of my favorites as it develops executive function, process, communication & collaborative skills as well as exposes them to the "if then" logic of coding.
